Brief Biography John Ballis

John has worked for many years in a variety of industries, ranging from the running of franchise businesses to the health industry and has learnt the importance of spiritual awareness and of balance in life. He has found his passions lie in the fields of natural health and the environment.
He bought, built up and sold several businesses, from restaurants to poultry shops and a string of delicatessens which began from a few to an outlet in every major shopping centre in Victoria, starting in Melbourne and reaching as far out as Mildura. This huge task included setting up the systems for some of the first franchise stores in this state. These stores were also backed up by manufacturing arms of smallgoods, seasonings, sauces, etc supplying not only his own shops but also smallgoods manufacturers such as Don Smallgoods, Castle Bacon and Patties Bakeries just to name a few.
John also holds Diplomas in many fields of alternative medicine, including Naturopathy, Medical Herbalism, Homoeopathy and Remedial Therapies. As well as this John is a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, corporate stress trainer and Meditation teacher and has owned clinics throughout Melbourne.
John is also a successful international co-author of the book “The Wheel of Life’s 8 Keys to Success” which has been a No. 1 best seller.
John designed and owner built an environmentally friendly, 10-star rated, energy efficient house in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, incorporating all the Feng Shui standards in design and functionality.
He has been working in the renewable energy industry for the past 15 years where he was a director of Ranges Energy co-operative, set up to fund solar systems and installations on medium to large scale public buildings in Australia and return dividends to co-op members.
He is currently the founding director and CEO of Grid edge Proprietary Limited that was set up to provide engineered systems for commercial solar power and complete system upgrades for residential solar power, capable of grid independence and specialising in environmentally friendly SoNick battery storage.
John also set up the Gippsland Renewable Innovations Park which includes a pyrolysis unit, SoNick batteries and solar PV at the Radial timber mill in Yarram to help fulfil the mills aim to establish a closed loop and self-sufficient sawmill. Further stages of this park could expand to provide renewable energy to the local Yarram community.
A Benefit Sharing Model has also been established to help increase the knowledge of and fund future renewable energy possibilities in Yarram.
